A friend gave me a song titled "Sax and piano jazz" and the file has it labeled as a Wynton Marsalis song, but I’ve checked and can’t find a song listed by that title or songs by Wynton Marsalis that sound exactly like it, but with a different name. I think she may have gotten the song here: http://boomp3.com/listen/4bve7ll7_0/wynton-marsalis-sax-and-piano-jazz
but the player won’t work on my computer so I can’t really tell. The song, like it says in the title, features Saxophone (possibly alto) and piano and is slow, just the one sax accompanied by a piano. If anyone can help me figure out what this song is called or who does it I’d really appreciate it.
If so, what style? Stride, bebop, etc….
Does anyone attempt the Tatum style these days? Keep it alive. =) I play bebop, stride, and all like that. But at times, I get a kick out of playing that Tatum-like stride….=)
I want to learn to play jazz trumpet and i was just wondering how hard it was for other people to learn.
I also play piano and guitar, i know their different style playing but is it harder than these instruments.
Can Jazz enthusiasts help me find some good, instrumental only, Late Night Piano Jazz? I don’t know if I’m messing things up, but this is probably the very music style I’ve been looking for (for a while now).
Other names that seem to fit are smooth piano jazz and urban piano jazz.
The closest references I can give are Joe Sample’s Hippies on a Corner
and that music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz0SYat5aco (from 1:40 to 1:50, oh those piano sounds).
Thanks in advance.
I’m pretty much a beginner and after looking at some of the reviews of this book, I’m starting to second guess whether I should buy it.
what is a good way to learn improvising Jazz music on the piano.
I need some general rules, or a reference.
I’m trying out for the school jazz band next year and I need a good song, does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi karylle! I read your answer! I do need the sheet music but I’d rather buy it than have you scan that because it’s illegal
lol Plus scanned things can be hard to read!
Yeah must have lyrics as well. For a musical performance.
